What does the SonaPhore simulation do?

You can swap reference speakers, amplifiers, sources and cables, move the speakers and the listening seat, shape the room with treatment, and hear how each choice changes your music. It also shows the sound spreading through the room and reports the room's acoustics.

Yes. SonaPhore is an educational tool built to make audio decisions intuitive. It teaches relationships and trade-offs in gear matching, speaker placement and room acoustics. It is a stylised reference, not a measurement of any specific product, and it should not replace a real audition.

How accurate is it?

It models level-matched playback, distance and proximity, stereo width, position-based filtering and room reverb derived from the dimensions and treatment you set. The goal is honest, consistent relationships you can hear, not a lab-grade measurement.

How do I use it?

Click Launch, pick one of the starting systems, then shape your room and press play. On a computer you walk with the W, A, S and D keys and look around with the mouse. On touch devices you stay seated in the sweet spot and drag to look around. Use the A and B switch to compare two setups.

How do I compare two systems fairly?

Set up A and B, then switch between them with the A / B control. Levels are matched automatically so loudness does not bias you, and an optional blind mode hides the labels so your ears decide.

I do not hear any sound. What now?

Audio starts only after you interact with the page, so press play and make sure the volume is up and the room is not muted. Check your system volume and that the browser tab is not muted.

What are the technical requirements?

A reasonably modern computer, phone or tablet with a current browser. The room renders in real time, so a recent device gives the smoothest result. You can lower the render quality in settings, and on phones the quality adapts automatically.

Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile. SonaPhore uses the Web Audio API and WebGL, which all current browsers support. Keep your browser updated for the best experience.

Do I need to install anything?

No. SonaPhore runs entirely in the browser. There is nothing to download or install, and good headphones or speakers are all you need to listen.

What about data and privacy?

SonaPhore runs locally in your browser. Your room and preference choices are stored on your own device so the app remembers them, and they are not sent anywhere. The simulation does not require an account.
